Eye Health Benefits
Pistachios are a rich source of lutein and zeaxanthin, two carotenoids found in high concentrations in the retina, particularly in the macula. These nutrients act as natural sunblock, absorbing harmful blue light and reducing the risk of macular damage and age-related vision decline.
Chia seeds are packed with omega-3 fatty acids and plant-based protein, essential for reducing inflammation and promoting healthy blood flow to the eyes. The omega-3s in chia seeds help maintain the integrity of the retina and support tear production, which is vital for preventing dry eyes.
Together with almonds and walnuts, which are known for their vitamin E and omega-3 content, this recipe creates a powerhouse snack for protecting and supporting overall eye health. This blend of nuts and seeds helps fight oxidative stress, maintains moisture balance in the eyes, and nourishes the delicate tissues needed for sharp, healthy vision.
